Based in Los Angeles, Monica Azevedo Productions is a multicultural Pan-American company, owned by the independent filmmaker Monica Azevedo.
Monica Azevedo was born in Belo Horizonte, the Capital of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Although graduated in Journalism, she worked in several short films since 1988 in her country and in the U.S. as a screenwriter, director and producer, among other positions. Living in Los Angeles, she finished a Film Directing Program in UCLA Extension and she is currently specializing in Post-Produciton at Santa Monica College.

A period drama based on true facts that tells the story of a young woman of Jewish ancestry who saves a Catholic priest from drowning in a river and ends up being accused by him of heresy before the relentless Holy Inquisition. |
| Next project: THE STRANGER Feature film. A man’s life turns upside down when his young daughter is abducted in his home town and his friend, an illegal immigrant, is arrested as the crime primary suspect. Dark thriller. |
